Victor Lebacqz, Associate Director for Aerospace <br \/>\nPrograms at NASA&#8217;s Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, <br \/>\nCalif. has been named Deputy Associate Administrator for the <br \/>\nOffice of Aerospace Technology at NASA Headquarters in <br \/>\nWashington.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nThe announcement was made by Dr. Jeremiah Creedon, Associate <br \/>\nAdministrator for Aerospace Technology, who said of his new <br \/>\ndeputy: &#8220;Vic brings a wealth of aerospace experience to the <br \/>\nenterprise that will certainly be an asset as NASA moves <br \/>\ntoward implementing its Blueprint for Aeronautics and the new <br \/>\nIntegrated Space Transportation Plan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In his new position as Deputy Associate Administrator, <br \/>\nLebacqz will assist Creedon in developing integrated, long-<br \/>\nterm, innovative agency-level technology for aeronautics and <br \/>\nspace. Lebacqz will also assist in developing new commercial <br \/>\npartnerships that exploit technology breakthroughs.<\/p>\n<p>Lebacqz began his federal career in 1978 as an aerospace <br \/>\nengineer conducting flight and simulation research at Ames. <br \/>\nSince then, he has held a variety of Ames management <br \/>\npositions including Chief of Flight Dynamics and Controls <br \/>\nBranch; Chief of Flight Management and Human Factors <br \/>\nDivision; and Director of Aviation System Capacity Program <br \/>\nand the Aerospace Operations Systems Programs.<\/p>\n<p>Lebacqz is a recipient of NASA&#8217;s Outstanding Leadership <br \/>\nMedal, NASA&#8217;s Exceptional Service Medal, a number of NASA <br \/>\nGroup Achievement Awards and two Ames Honor Awards. He <br \/>\nreceived bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in <br \/>\naeronautical engineering from Princeton University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. J.
