Although not visible in this image, the island is the site of a group of meteorite craters that, at the time of impact an estimated 4000\u20137000 years ago, burned forests within a 6 km radius.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe capital and largest city, Tallinn, can be seen by its white radar reflections along the coast near the top of the image. About a third of Estonia\u2019s population lives here.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nEast of Tallinn is the Lahemaa National Park. Covering over 470 sq km of land and 250 sq km of sea, it is the country\u2019s largest national park. It includes forests, limestone plateaus, waterfalls, raised bogs, peninsulas and bays along the coastal plain and offshore islands. Wildlife includes lynx, bear and wolves.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLake Peipus \u2013 the country\u2019s largest with a total surface area over 3550 sq km \u2013 straddles the border with Russia to the east.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOn 4 February, Estonia signed the Accession Agreement to the ESA Convention.
