Students used amateur radio to speak to Tim Peake – Credit City of Norwich School<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An amateur radio contact between students at the City of Norwich School GB2CNS<\/strong> and UK astronaut Tim Peake GB1SS<\/strong> took place at 14:40 GMT on Friday, February 26, 2016.<\/p>\n

\"CityRadio amateur Tim Hare M6HTJ<\/strong><\/a>, a Year 10 pupil at CNS, led the space linkup.<\/span> The pupils asked a range of questions from \u2018what happens to the blood if you cut yourself in space\u2019 to \u2018what\u2019s your favourite place to fly over\u2019 to \u2018what sort of experiments are you doing in space\u2019? The 10 minute live link up was made possible by the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) team.<\/p>\n

Daniel Cussen EI9FHB<\/strong> asked John Brier KG4AKV<\/strong> to edit the video from his and Jean Pierre F6DZP<\/strong>‘s HamTV reception together, along with the video from the City of Norwich school. This video uses the audio from HamTV and not just the VHF audio.<\/p>\n
