{"id":240718,"date":"2016-04-22T14:58:31","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T18:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amsat-uk.org\/?p=28918"},"modified":"2016-04-22T14:58:31","modified_gmt":"2016-04-22T18:58:31","slug":"esa-announce-competition-for-radio-hams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=240718","title":{"rendered":"ESA announce competition for radio hams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-28921 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/ukamsat.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/04\/soyuz-vs14-mission-patch.jpg?w=300&#038;h=212\" alt=\"Soyuz VS14 mission patch\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" \/>The European Space Agency (ESA) Education Office will give a prize to the first three radio amateurs to send a recorded signal from either the AAUSAT4, E-st@r-II or OUFTI-1 CubeSats which are expected to launch Saturday, April 23 at 2102 UT.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of the three CubeSats on a Russian Soyuz-STA Fregat-M rocket from Kourou in South America had been planned for Friday but was postponed 24 hours due to poor weather.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after being deployed into their final orbit, the CubeSats will begin transmitting signals to Earth that can be picked up by anyone with common amateur radio equipment.
