{"id":242246,"date":"2016-07-21T10:01:31","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T14:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amsat-uk.org\/?p=30088"},"modified":"2016-07-21T10:01:31","modified_gmt":"2016-07-21T14:01:31","slug":"new-geostationary-transponders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=242246","title":{"rendered":"New Geostationary Transponders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-29916 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/ukamsat.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/06\/eshail-2-coverage-from-26-degrees-east.jpg?w=295&#038;h=300\" alt=\"Es'hail-2 coverage from 26 degrees East\" width=\"295\" height=\"300\" \/>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amsat-uk.org\/colloquium\/\" >AMSAT-UK International Space Colloquium<\/a><\/strong> at the Holiday Inn, Guildford will hear presentations from <strong>Peter G\u00fclzow DB2OS<\/strong> and <strong>Achim Vollhardt DH2VA<\/strong> on the new geostationary amateur radio satellite transponders due to launch early in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The two transponders will provide SSB, Digimode, CW and Digital Amateur TV communications between five continents.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, July 30 Peter G\u00fclzow DB2OS will talk about the Phase 4A flight segment while Achim Vollhardt DH2VA will describe the ground station requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The event over the weekend of July 30-31 is open to all, admittance is \u00a310 per day, car parking is free.
