{"id":2625,"date":"2009-08-17T16:32:00","date_gmt":"2009-08-17T20:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123163625"},"modified":"2009-08-17T16:32:00","modified_gmt":"2009-08-17T20:32:00","slug":"successful-gps-iir-21m-launch-from-cape-canaveral-afs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=2625","title":{"rendered":"Successful GPS IIR-21(M) Launch from Cape Canaveral AFS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float:left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123163625\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" style=\"margin-right:15px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/shared\/media\/photodb\/thumbnails\/090817-F-0000B-001.jpg\"<\/img><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The U.S. Air Force successfully launched the last in the series of eight modernized Global Positioning System (GPS) IIR satellites carried aboard the last of the Air Force&#8217;s United Launch Alliance Delta II Rocket at 6:35 a.m. EDT August 17 from Space Launch Complex 17A at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. <\/p>\n<p>The GPS IIR-21(M) launch is the Space and Missile Systems Center&#8217;s 62nd consecutive launch success, and the fifth for the Launch and Range Systems Wing in 2009. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This morning&#8217;s successful launch of GPS IIR-21(M) was the direct result of a focused Delta II and GPS team executing a textbook launch campaign,&#8221; said Mr. John Wagner, Mission Director for the launch and Chief Technical Director for the Launch and Range Systems Wing. &#8220;Congratulations to the United Launch Alliance, Lockheed Martin and our entire Air Force team on a job well done.
