Cruz Berrocal&#8217;s archaeological excavations at a settlement in northern Taiwan have brought a new perspective on the colonisation of the Pacific region to light: the small Spanish colony of &#8216;San Salvador de Isla Hermosa&#8217; was an early globalised spot.
