The goal of the survey was to characterize planets orbiting low-mass stars, but our Infrared Telescope Facility\/SpeX and Palomar\/TripleSpec spectroscopic observations revealed that 49% of our targets were actually giant stars or hotter dwarfs reddened by interstellar extinction.
