{"id":56319,"date":"2010-10-06T15:31:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-06T19:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123225301"},"modified":"2010-10-06T15:31:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-06T19:31:00","slug":"outcan-contributions-vital-to-space-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=56319","title":{"rendered":"OUTCAN contributions vital to space mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float:left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123225301\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" style=\"margin-right:15px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/shared\/media\/photodb\/thumbnails\/101006-F-4752B-001.jpg\"<\/img><\/a><\/div>\n<p>When the men and women of Vandenberg perform a mission, whether it is space surveillance or launching a payload into space, it is not solely an American effort, but rather a joint effort. <br \/>\nOne such example is the partnership between the Americans and Canadians at Vandenberg. <\/p>\n<p>Stemming out of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, a joint organization that provides aerospace warning, air sovereignty and defense for the U.S. and Canada, Air Force Space Command was created in 1982 with a focus on space surveillance, missile warning and command and control for national leadership. Canadians have been a part of this organization from the beginning and its evolution through the years have brought the current group of seven Canadians, who fill various positions,&#160;to Vandenberg.
