{"id":653010,"date":"2020-04-24T03:18:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T07:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=653010"},"modified":"2020-04-24T03:18:00","modified_gmt":"2020-04-24T07:18:00","slug":"no2-concentrations-over-india-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=653010","title":{"rendered":"NO2 concentrations over India 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/NO2_concentrations_over_India_2020_card_full-2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These images, using data from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Applications\/Observing_the_Earth\/Copernicus\/Sentinel-5P\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite<\/a>, show the average nitrogen dioxide concentrations from 1 January to 24 March 2020 and 25 March (the first day of the lockdown) to 20 April 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A trail of nitrogen dioxide emissions from maritime traffic can be seen as a faint line over the Indian Ocean (visible in the bottom of the image.) Shipping lanes appear as straight lines owing to commercial ships following more or less the same route.<\/p>\n<p>The concentrations of nitrogen dioxide in our atmosphere vary widely on a daily basis.
