{"id":706331,"date":"2021-10-27T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=706331"},"modified":"2021-10-27T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-10-27T12:00:00","slug":"euclid-spacecraft-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=706331","title":{"rendered":"Euclid spacecraft integration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Euclid_spacecraft_integration_card_full.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Euclid <a href=\"https:\/\/sci.esa.int\/web\/euclid\/-\/spacecraft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">payload and service module<\/a> are currently at Thales Alenia Space in Torino, Italy, where they will be integrated to form the final, finished spacecraft.<\/p>\n<p>In this video Euclid\u2019s service module is being transferred onto a support near the payload module, in order to prepare it for further integration activities.<\/p>\n<p>Euclid is ESA\u2019s mission to map the geometry of the Universe and better understand the mysterious dark matter and dark energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Science_Exploration\/Space_Science\/Euclid_telescope_ready_for_extreme_space_environment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">The Euclid mission recently passed a milestone in its development with successful testing of the telescope and instruments showing that it can operate and achieve the required performance in the extreme environment of space<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thales Alenia Space is ESA\u2019s prime contractor for the construction of the satellite and its service module.
