MIRI is one of Europe&#8217;s contributions to the James Webb Space Telescope.<\/p>\n<p>MIRI supports all of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Images\/2021\/06\/Webb_science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Webb\u2019s science goals<\/a>. It will image the Universe, study planets around our own and other stars and investigate stars and galaxies across cosmic history.<\/p>\n<p>The instsrument will be kept extra cold by its very own \u2018cryocooler\u2019.
