{"id":744210,"date":"2022-12-22T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=744210"},"modified":"2022-12-22T10:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T14:00:00","slug":"flight-control-space-weather-and-debris-what-an-astronaut-needs-to-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=744210","title":{"rendered":"Flight control, space weather and debris: What an astronaut needs to know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n\tVideo:<br \/>\n\t\t\t00:19:50<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Andreas Mogensen, now getting ready for his \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Science_Exploration\/Human_and_Robotic_Exploration\/Introducing_Huginn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Huginn<\/a>\u2019 mission to the ISS in 2023, stopped by ESA\u2019s ESOC mission control centre in Darmstadt, Germany, to meet with some of the experts who keep our satellites flying.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas usually works at NASA&#8217;s Johnson Space Center in Houston as an ISS \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA_Multimedia\/Images\/2018\/03\/Capcom_Andreas_Mogensen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">capcom<\/a>\u2019, and we don\u2019t often see him in Europe.
