NASA\u2019s Glenn Research Center\u2019s \u201cAn Evening With the Stars,\u201d held Aug. 29 at Windows on the River near Cleveland\u2019s historic waterfront, showcased research and technology innovations that addressed this year\u2019s theme, \u201cNASA Glenn Now \u2013 NASA Glenn Forever.\u201d\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u202fThe event, which attracted sponsors and guests from more than 50 companies, universities, and organizations,\u202ffeatured opening remarks by NASA Associate Administrator Bob Cabana, NASA Glenn Center Director Dr. Jimmy Kenyon, and Ohio Aerospace Institute President John Sankovic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kenyon then introduced the presenters \u2013 NASA\u2019s stars of the evening \u2013 and their topics.\u202f<\/p>\n

Carlos Flores<\/strong>, chief of the Strategic Planning Branch for Facilities and Infrastructure, shared details on Glenn\u2019s Facilities Master Plan. This plan ensures the center possesses the facilities and capabilities to meet future mission requirements while maintaining the agency\u2019s critical infrastructure.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr.<\/strong> \u202fRickey Shyne<\/strong>, director of Research and Engineering, highlighted some of Glenn\u2019s current and future technologies. Shyne leads and manages all research and development competencies in propulsion, communications, power, and materials and structures for extreme environments in support of NASA\u2019s aeronautics and space missions.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three early \u2013 career employees shared their personal journeys to NASA and how they\u2019re contributing to the agency\u2019s current and future missions. <\/p>\n
