2024 CH4 flew past Earth at 0.28 LD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>A newly-discovered asteroid designated 2024 CH4 flew past Earth at a distance of 0.28 LD \/ 0.0007 AU (109 004 km \/ 67 732 miles) at 06:10 UTC on February 11, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the 11<sup>th<\/sup> known asteroid to fly past Earth within 1 lunar distance since the start of the year.<\/p>\n<p>2024 CH4 was first observed at JPL SynTrack Robotic Telescope in Auberry, one day after it made its close approach to Earth.<\/p>\n<p>The object belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids
