{"id":784049,"date":"2024-06-13T03:30:53","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T08:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=784049"},"modified":"2024-06-13T03:30:53","modified_gmt":"2024-06-13T08:30:53","slug":"esa-prepares-for-its-first-open-day-in-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=784049","title":{"rendered":"ESA prepares for its first open day in the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<header class=\"entry article__block\">\n\t<span class=\"pillar article__item\">Agency<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<span>13\/06\/2024<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<span><span id=\"viewcount\">32<\/span><small> views<\/small><\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span><span id=\"ezsr_total_26158645\">0<\/span><small> likes<\/small><\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"abstract article__block article__item\">\n<p>ESA is getting ready to show thousands of visitors how space improves life on Earth at its very first open day to be held in the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<p>This unique event will take place on Saturday 29 June at ESA\u2019s European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT), located at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<figure class=\"article__image article__image--left\"><figcaption class=\"image__caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tESA Open Days at ECSAT<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It forms part of the\u00a0final day of the campus-wide Harwell open week\u00a0which, from 24 to 29 June, will give people the chance to explore behind the scenes across campus and experience first-hand where some of the world\u2019s most pioneering research and technology development happens.<\/p>\n<p>A key member of the thriving community of enterprises at Harwell campus, ECSAT is shaping the future of connectivity and developing space-enabled solutions used every day by European citizens. It also hosts ESA teams working to address the climate crisis, prepare technologies and build skills for future exploration, and develop advanced manufacturing techniques for future space missions.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<h2 class=\"heading\">An out-of-this-world experience <\/h2>\n<p>As part of the ESA open day, ECSAT and many of its partners on campus will be on show in a packed programme of talks and demonstrations held on 29 June at ECSAT\u2019s Magali Vaissiere Conference Centre, located next door to the main ECSAT building. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<figure class=\"article__image article__image--right\"><figcaption class=\"image__caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHarwell Science and Innovation Campus<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The programme is currently being prepared and will feature a series of fascinating talks on science and space topics, such as artificial intelligence and the challenges of space debris.
