{"id":784598,"date":"2024-06-24T13:50:56","date_gmt":"2024-06-24T18:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=784598"},"modified":"2024-06-24T13:50:56","modified_gmt":"2024-06-24T18:50:56","slug":"on-the-goes-nasa-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=784598","title":{"rendered":"On the GOES &#8211; NASA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>On June 14, 2024, NOAA\u2019s (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) last Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, GOES-U, started its journey from the Astrotech Space Operations facility to the SpaceX hangar at Launch Complex 39A at NASA\u2019s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>GOES-U is the final weather-observing and environmental monitoring satellite in NOAA\u2019s GOES-R Series. GOES-U will enhance meteorologists\u2019 ability to provide advanced weather forecasting and warning capabilities.
