I don\u2019t think that is a very good use of the taxpayer\u2019s money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chandra experts like Paul Levitt have taken to social media to express their displeasure.<\/p>\n<p><!-- END ID=\"RES1815484439818121259\" CLASS=\"BUCKETWRAP TWITTER LARGE GRAPHIC\" ARIA-LABEL=\"TWEET\" --><\/p>\n<p>Scientists have also appealed to members of Congress like Seth Moulton, a Democratic U. S. representative from Massachusetts, which is home to the telescope\u2019s operations center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m listening to the over 700 astronomers who have signed a letter saying, \u2018This work is important. It needs to continue,\u2019\u201d Moulton told NPR. \u201cI really think it\u2019s up to those of us in Congress to try to find the money to ensure that it does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, on Tuesday a meeting of the agency\u2019s astrophysics advisory committee will discuss Chandra\u2019s future.
