Three bright fireballs were observed over the Great Lakes region of the United States of America and Canada on Monday, October 21.<\/p>\n

The first fireball was seen at around 10:54 UTC over the states of Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ontario, lasting between 3 and 7 seconds. No sound was associated with the event.<\/p>\n

It was reported by 11 people, according to the American Meteor Society (AMS), which designated it as event number 6191-2024.<\/p>\n

Carolyn A. from Taneytown, MD said a glowing trail coming to a point reminded her of a very long extremely bright shooting star- only with a much brighter and longer tail.<\/p>\n

Another observer from Garden City, Michigan said the fireball exploded in white and yellow flash.<\/p>\n

Another fireball was reported at around 10:57 UTC, just three minutes later, over Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario. The sightings were reported by five people, and the incident was designated as event number 6200-2024.<\/p>\n

The event lasted up to 3 seconds.<\/p>\n

The third fireball was reported at around 23:00 UTC and was observed from Ontario, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina.<\/p>\n

More than 300 people reported seeing the event, lasting between 3 and 7 seconds.<\/p>\n

Observers reported a bright green flash with a yellow streak, slight fragmentation at the end, and a glowing vapor trail in the twilight sky.<\/p>\n

Several observers said the fireball looked like it hit the ground.<\/p>\n
