{"id":791739,"date":"2024-12-04T20:42:03","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T01:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=791739"},"modified":"2024-12-04T20:42:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T01:42:03","slug":"dr-misty-davies-american-institute-of-aeronautics-and-astronautics-aiaa-2024-fellow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=791739","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Misty Davies &#8211; American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) 2024 Fellow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In May 2024, Dr. Misty Davies joined the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Class of 2024 Fellows at a ceremony in Washington, DC.\u00a0 The AIAA website states that, \u201cAIAA confers Fellow upon individuals in recognition of their notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences or technology of aeronautics and astronautics.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0The first AIAA Fellows were elected in 1934; since then only 2064 people have been selected for the honor.\u00a0\u00a0Dr. Davies has\u00a0focused her career\u00a0at NASA Ames Research Center\u00a0on developing tools and techniques that enable the safety assurance of increasingly autonomous systems.\u00a0\u00a0She currently serves as the Associate Chief for Aeronautics Systems in the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA Ames and is the Aerospace Operations and Safety Program (AOSP) Technical Advisor for Assurance and Safety.
