Happy holidays from ESA’s Hera asteroid mission for planetary defence, currently cruising through deep space on its way towards a swingby of Mars next March.<\/p>\n
This Christmas you can enjoy two free gifts from Hera. Have a go talking to the mission ‘directly’ via the online\u00a0Hera Space Companion, an interactive AI-powered assistant providing facts about the mission and real-time data from space. The Hera Space Companion has been developed by\u00a0Terra Mater Studios,\u00a0Impact AI, \u00a0and\u00a0Microsoft Austria\u00a0in collaboration with ESA.<\/p>\n
And anyone who owns an Apple Vision Pro or Meta Quest 3 or 3S VR headset can have the Hera spacecraft turn up in their own living room!<\/p>\n
Developed by Italian startup\u00a0DIVE\u00a0in cooperation with ESA\u2019s Hera mission team, the \u201cGuardians of Earth\u201d app allows users to peer inside the spacecraft, learn about how it works, assemble its elements and follow its journey through space to its target asteroid.\u00a0From today, the app is available for free on\u00a0Apple Vision Pro\u00a0from the App Store and for\u00a0Meta Quest\u00a03 and 3S.<\/p>\n
