{"id":793903,"date":"2025-02-26T05:37:10","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T10:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=793903"},"modified":"2025-02-26T05:37:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T10:37:10","slug":"esa-drilling-into-mars-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=793903","title":{"rendered":"ESA &#8211; Drilling into Mars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"modal__tab-content--details\">\n<div class=\"modal__tab-description\">\n<p>The ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover will drill deeper than any other mission has ever attempted on the Red Planet.<\/p>\n<p>The third episode in the series shows how the rover will extract, collect and analyse martian samples in a high-fidelity simulation.<\/p>\n<p>Rosalind Franklin will be the first rover to reach a depth of up to two metres deep below the surface, acquiring samples that have been protected from harsh fsurface radiation and extreme temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>The drill system combines multiple precission mechanisms in an intricate automated sequence.
