This training covered spacecraft systems, spacewalking, flight engineering, robotics, life support systems, survival, and medical training. Sophie received her astronaut certification alongside fellow astronaut candidates Rosemary Coogan, Pablo \u00c1lvarez Fern\u00e1ndez, Rapha\u00ebl Li\u00e9geois, and Marco Sieber at EAC on 22 April 2024, officially marking her transition into a fully-fledged astronaut.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2024, Sophie was announced for her first spaceflight mission, currently scheduled for 2026 to the International Space Station.
