{"id":800257,"date":"2026-01-22T05:11:33","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T10:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=800257"},"modified":"2026-01-22T05:11:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T10:11:33","slug":"esa-at-the-european-space-conference-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=800257","title":{"rendered":"ESA at the European Space Conference 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<header class=\"entry article__block\">\n\t<span class=\"pillar article__item\">Agency<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<span>21\/01\/2026<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<span><span id=\"viewcount\">310<\/span><small> views<\/small><\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span><span id=\"ezsr_total_27074115\">3<\/span><small> likes<\/small><\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"abstract article__block article__item\">\n<p>The 18th European Space Conference (ESC) will take place on 27 and 28 January 2026 at the Square Convention Centre in Brussels, Belgium.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<p>This edition of the conference will focus on European autonomy, resilience, competitiveness, security and defence, bringing together representatives from the European Space Agency, the European Commission, industry, national space agencies and European institutions to discuss strategic priorities for Europe in space.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<p>\u201cThis year, ESA\u2019s presence at ESC is of particular strategic importance,\u201d says Anne-Sophie Bradelle, Head of ESA\u2019s Communications Department. \u201cIt follows the results of ESA\u2019s Ministerial Council in November, which approved an historic budget of \u20ac22.3 billion. This strengthens Europe\u2019s position in the global space arena and reinforces ESA\u2019s mandate in security and defence-related activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Key outcomes from ESA\u2019s Ministerial Council 2025 (CM25), including strengthened cooperation between ESA and the European Union, will be highlighted across the conference sessions and keynote addresses, as well as in the exhibitions and events. This cooperation addresses space transportation, Earth observation, secure communications, technology development, and space safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<h2 class=\"heading\">Exhibition<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"article__image article__image--right\"><figcaption class=\"image__caption\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe ESA booth at the 18th European Space Conference &#8211; artist impression<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The ESA exhibition will be located in the Magritte Foyer, on the first floor of the Square Convention Centre, and will present the five goals of ESA\u2019s Strategy 2040, in line with the outcomes of CM25:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Protecting our planet and climate<\/li>\n<li>Exploring and discovering<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening European autonomy and resilience<\/li>\n<li>Boosting European growth and competitiveness<\/li>\n<li>Inspiring Europe<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<p>A dedicated wall focusing on the motto \u2018Stronger Together\u2019 will highlight cooperation between ESA and the European Commission, reflecting the importance of the EU\u2013ESA partnership for Europe\u2019s leadership in space and the competitiveness of the European economy. To mark some recent achievements in collaboration with the European Commission, models of MTG-S, Sentinel-4, and Galileo satellites will be on display.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition will provide a space for interviews, networking and events with ESA Director General, ESA Directors and other experts.<\/p>\n<p>Additional ESA exhibition elements will be located on the ground floor of the Square Convention Centre, including Ameca, ESA\u2019s AI-powered robot ambassador.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__block\">\n<h2 class=\"heading\">Conference programme highlights<\/h2>\n<p>ESA will play a central role at the conference, with the participation of its Director General Josef Aschbacher, ESA Directors, astronauts and other senior experts.
