Western France has been experiencing\u00a035 consecutive days of heavy rain, the longest rainy streak since records began in 1959, according to the national weather service Meteo-France.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Bordeaux region was among the worst hit by the torrential rainfall, with water levels rising in various rivers and causing widespread flooding.<\/p>\n
This multi-temporal radar image uses information from two separate acquisitions captured by the\u00a0Copernicus Sentinel-1 mission\u00a0on\u00a06 and 18 February 2026 to show in red the extent of the flooding\u00a0across the region.<\/p>\n
In response to the devastating floods, the Copernicus Emergency Management Service has been\u00a0activated\u00a0to produce detailed maps of the affected areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
