\t\t\t\t\t\t06\/03\/2026<\/span> An anomaly onboard the Proba-3 mission\u2019s Coronagraph spacecraft led to loss of contact between the spacecraft and ground control.\u00a0The root cause of the anomaly is under investigation\u00a0and mission teams are working hard to recover the situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n During the weekend of 14\u201315 February 2026, an anomaly\u00a0onboard\u00a0Proba-3’s Coronagraph spacecraft triggered a chain reaction that led to the progressive loss of attitude (spacecraft orientation) and prevented the entry into safe mode.\u00a0<\/p>\n Because the spacecraft\u2019s solar panel was no longer facing the Sun, the onboard battery started to discharge quickly. This caused the spacecraft to enter survival\u00a0mode, when\u00a0minimum electronics are active and data transmission to the ground is interrupted.\u00a0<\/p>\n The exact root\u00a0cause of the anomaly is under investigation, and mission teams and operators\u00a0have joined forces to\u00a0attempt\u00a0to re-establish\u00a0contact with the spacecraft to recover the situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n One\u00a0of their\u00a0priorities\u00a0is to investigate how the\u00a0mission’s\u00a0Occulter spacecraft,\u00a0which\u00a0remains\u00a0healthy and operational, could\u00a0safely\u00a0approach\u00a0the Coronagraph and\u00a0observe\u00a0its orientation\u00a0in space\u00a0to\u00a0support the recovery efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n Updates will be shared as\u00a0new information\u00a0becomes available.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
