{"id":99440,"date":"2011-05-26T12:24:28","date_gmt":"2011-05-26T16:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123257639"},"modified":"2011-05-26T12:24:28","modified_gmt":"2011-05-26T16:24:28","slug":"competition-integrates-cyber-capabilities-encourages-new-ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spaceweekly.com\/?p=99440","title":{"rendered":"Competition integrates cyber capabilities, encourages new ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float:left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?id=123257639\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" style=\"margin-right:15px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afspc.af.mil\/shared\/media\/photodb\/thumbnails\/110526-F-NG816-002.jpg\"<\/img><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Airmen from the 67th Network Warfare Wing took part in the first-ever Cyber Nexus competition here May 17-19. <\/p>\n<p>The force-on-force event was the first of its kind in that it brought together operators from the Air Force&#8217;s four cyber disciplines &#8211; network operations, defensive operations, offensive operations and Electronic Systems Security Assessments &#8211; to compete as integrated teams.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the first time we&#8217;ve done an integrated exercise where all facets are working together in tandem for a common goal,&#8221; said Col. Kevin Wooton, 67th Network Warfare Wing commander. &#8220;For us to be able to [bring these components] together is critical as we really start to look at operating in the cyber domain with full spectrum operations.
