As part of an exchange between the 689th Combat Communications Wing and its sister wing the 50th Space Wing, Col. Wayne Monteith, 50th SW commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Randy LaCombe, 50th SW command chief, visited the B.E.A.S.T.’s of the 689th CCW here March 23.
The visit gave both wing commanders a better understanding of each other’s missions and how they can better support/inter-relate in the future.
Colonel Monteith and Chief LaCombe took the opportunity to learn more about the 689th CCW current operations, Combat Challenge Team, 5th Combat Communications Group (MOB) Mobility School training, and observe a communications training exercise conducted by the 52nd Combat Communications Squadron. Also during their visit they attended the send-off of 20 Airmen who are deploying to support a bare base stand-up in Bahrain.
