Comet ISON at 21:24 UT on 28 November as seen in SOHO’s LASCSO C2 field of view, after its closest encounter with the Sun. Early reports suggest that just the tail of the comet survived and followed ISON’s trajectory, but further analysis will reveal if any chunks of ISON’s nucleus remain.
