Iceberg on Sentinel-1A’s radar

ESA’s Sentinel-1A satellite captured this image of an iceberg (lower right) drifting near the Prince Edward Islands on 14 December 2014. Radar imagery from Sentinel-1A and the Italian space agency’s Cosmo-SkyMed were used to track the movement of the iceberg – and guide sailor Matteo Miceli away from the treacherous waters while on his around-the-world voyage. Read more.
