Crew Begins Landing Preparations

At the moment, weather conditions still are “no go” for Discovery’s second landing attempt at 10:23 a.m. EDT. However, visibility is improving, and the crew has been instructed to begin fluid loading and landing procedures. Weather officers are monitoring fog and showers within 30 nautical miles of Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility but believe the current observed showers may break up in time for a landing.
