Launch countdown interrupted for Ariane 5’s launch with Yahsat Y1A and Intelsat New Dawn

Data analysis is underway to determine the cause of an anomaly that interrupted the Ariane 5’s launch prior to liftoff with its Yahsat Y1A and Intelsat New Dawn satellites. The Ariane 5 and its two payloads switched to a safe mode on the launch pad.

While analyses are being performed to determine the anomaly – which was detected after startup of the cryogenic main engine, but before ignition of the two solid boosters – the Ariane 5 will be rolled back to the Spaceport’s Final Assembly Building, where it is to be returned to a flight-ready condition.
