Space App Camp 2016

The weeklong ‘camp’ held at ESA’s establishment in Italy 12–19 September 2016 gathered together app developers who work on ideas to bring Earth observation data – particularly coming from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites – to the everyday user through smartphones.

On 19 September, the seven groups presented their projects for apps that can be used in agriculture, environmental protection, lifestyle, tourism, health, ‘smart’ cities or transportation.

Following the presentations, ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano made a special presentation to the App Camp participants.
