Agency Officials Discuss Discovery Launch

NASA’s senior managers are meeting today at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for a lengthy but standard overview of the upcoming launch of space shuttle Discovery. The meeting is known as the Flight Readiness Review, or FRR, and it will set an official launch date for the STS-128 mission to the International Space Station. A briefing will be broadcast on NASA TV at the conclusion of the FRR.

The STS-128 mission currently is targeted to liftoff Aug. 24 at 1:58 a.m. EDT.
