Schriever celebrates Arbor Day, Tree City USA award

Every year in communities around the world, earth is dug up to make homes for new trees in honor of Arbor Day.

Arbor Day, which started as a proposal by J. Sterling Morton to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture in 1872, is a special day set aside for planting trees.

During the ceremony, Andy Schlosberg, assistant district forester, Colorado State Forrest Service, Woodland Park District, called to mind the focus of Arbor Day and the importance of planting trees.
