Arianespace has signed a contract with Intelsat, the leading provider of fixed satellite services, to launch Intelsat 17. An Ariane 5 ECA is scheduled to orbit this spacecraft – which will weigh nearly 5,800 at liftoff – from the Spaceport in French Guiana at the end of 2010.
