Two of Air Force Space Command’s newest units were named the best in cyberspace operations May 17.
The 688th Information Operations Wing was awarded the honor of Outstanding Wing with a Cyberspace Mission for 2009 for its exceptional meritorious service across the spectrum of cyber operations. The 39th Information Operations Squadron, one of six IO squadrons in the 688 IOW, was also honored as AFSPC’s Best Information Operations Squadron for 2009.
“This is a very proud moment for the 688th,” said Col. Robert Skinner, 688th IOW commander. “Since our activation in 2009, we’ve been on afterburners standing up the wing, accomplishing the mission, and taking care of our people.”
