Abstract: Detailed development of wakes and their impact on the performance of a low-speed one and half stage axial compressor are investigated with a large eddy simulation (LES). To investigate effects of wake mixing recovery and wake interaction with the boundary layer of the downstream blade, spacing between the rotor blade and the stator is varied.
