Abstract: The difference between high-LET and low-LET radiation is quantified by a measure called relative biological effectiveness (RBE). RBE is defined as the ratio of the dose of a reference radiation to that of a test radiation to achieve the same effect level, and thus, is described either as an iso-effector dose-to-dose ratio.
