Noise Source Location and Flow Field Measurements on Supersonic Jets and Implications Regarding Broadband Shock Noise

Abstract: An experiment was conducted in an effort to obtain data that would provide a better understanding of the origins of broadband shock noise (BBSN). Phased array noise source location and two types of flow field data (background oriented schlieren and particle image velocimetry) were acquired on unheated, single-stream jets.
