Copernicus highlights

The video offers a glimpse into some of the results that have been provided by the Copernicus Sentinel missions. Europe’s Copernicus is the largest environmental monitoring programme in the world. The manifesto that gave rise to Copernicus was signed in Baveno in 1998. Since then the programme has been defined, satellites built and user services implemented. There are now seven Sentinel satellites in orbit delivering a stream of complementary environmental data, six Copernicus services and more than 150 000 registered data users. With more Sentinels in the process of being built, new satellite concepts being assessed, and new markets opening up, this innovative programme is set to grow even more.
