Abstract: Adhesion of contaminants has been identified as a ubiquitous issue for aeronautic exterior surfaces. Organic coatings have been demonstrated to enable reduction in insect residue adhesion as well as a reduction in ice adhesion strength. These approaches however, have yet to demonstrate sufficient durability to enable application to commercial aircraft wing leading edges.
