Modeling, Simulation, and Robust Design of the TSIS Pointing Controller for ISS Deployment

Abstract: To ensure high quality TSIS science measurements, stringent requirements were levied on the pointing system performance. Several factors complicated the design of the pointing system controller including uncertainty in knowledge of the ISS base motion jitter, the use of direct drive brushless DC motors for the gimbal system, and the presence of TSIS structure low frequency modes.
