Cardiac rehab attendance lower among Asian, Black and Hispanic adults at all income levels, study finds

In a study of more than 107,000 people eligible for cardiac rehabilitation programs, Asian, Black and Hispanic adults were significantly less likely to attend cardiac rehabilitation programs compared to white adults. These differences in cardiac rehabilitation participation were seen at all income levels. The timeframe between hospital discharge and starting cardiac rehabilitation, which can affect recovery and health outcomes, was also at least a week longer among Asian, Black and Hispanic adults compared to white adults.
