February is Children’s Dental Health Month and the 21st Dental Squadron is gearing up to help the community’s children. This year’s slogan is “A Healthy Smile? It’s Easy To Find!”
Tooth decay is one of the most common and preventable childhood diseases. One of the most important roles of dental professionals is to prevent decay through education and encouragement of good oral hygiene practices.
This year the dental team plans to visit the child development centers, the youth center, and Christa McAuliffe Elementary. The school visits include hands-on demonstrations of brushing and flossing techniques, along with tips on choosing healthy foods.
