Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) completes sun acquisition control

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency

 The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has received a signal from the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM),launched by H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 47 (H-IIA F47) from the Tanegashima Space Center at 8:42:11 a.m. on September 7, 2023 (Japan Standard Time, JST). The signal was received via the Maspalomas Station* (Canary Islands, Spain) at 9:45 a.m.(JST) on that same day, confirming the successful completion of sun acquisition control.

 The SLIM’s status is currently normal.
