Crew Members Troubleshoot Minor Spacesuit Leak

Crew members aboard the International Space Station are troubleshooting a minor leak in Steve Bowen’s spacesuit as he and Alvin Drew prepare for today’s spacewalk. The suit has failed two leak checks. The two spacewalkers are in the Quest airlock receiving assistance from fellow crew members Mike Barratt and Paolo Nespoli and are in no danger. They are working to isolate and repair the leak and believe the source is an o-ring in a lithium hydroxide canister on the suit. The canister helps scrub carbon dioxide from the suit. The second STS-133 spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 10:18 a.m. EST.
