ARGENTINA’S ARSAT-2 SPACECRAFT TO BE ORBITED BY ARIANESPACE

ARSAT has selected Arianespace to launch its second satellite, Arsat-2. With a liftoff mass of about 2,900 kg., this spacecraft will be placed into geostationary transfer orbit by an Ariane 5 or Soyuz launcher operated from the Spaceport in French Guiana. To be fitted with 26 Ku-band (2 beams) and 10 C-band (hemi beam) equivalent transponders, Arsat-2 will offer a wide range of telecommunications, data transmission, Internet and television services – primarily across the Americas from Argentina to Canada.
