HAWC inspires healthy eating

Eleven Team Schriever members attended a cooking demonstration here May 25 sponsored by the Schriever Health and Wellness Center.

The main goal of the cooking demonstration, given by Staff Sgt. Vanessa Arthur, HAWC diet therapist, was to provide a low sodium meal, beginning with a beverage and ending with dessert. The meal consisted of a passion fruit lemonade tea, mandarin orange and feta cheese salad, mustard rubbed salmon and yogurt fruit dip.

“The meal was delicious, and Sergeant Arthur’s directions were easy enough for me to try the recipes out at home,” said Lt. Col. Amy Robinson, 50th Operations Group deputy commander. “I had fun at the demo and hope to attend more – I’d recommend the HAWC demos to anyone who is looking for simple, but good-for-you meal ideas.”
