Canadian Wounded Warriors compete in third Annual Marine Corps Trials

Eleven Canadian wounded warrior athletes competed in the third annual Marine Corps Trials on Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 1-6.

Canadian Maj. Cameron Lowdon and Capt. Phil Desmarais from the Canadian OUTCAN Space Operations (OSO) Unit, welcomed the athletes who came from all over Canada to participate against more than 250 athletes from the United States and seven other nations. The event, hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Regiment, included archery, swimming, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball and track and field. But it was apparent to Lowdon that the team had a different goal with this year’s visit.
